Retiring to Spain ?

Spain has always been the most popular country for Britons to retire. Since the explosion of packages in seventies, that has attracted millions of people with its main attraction, of course, be warm and sunny climate that enjoys respect in the exercise in general.

Weather

In the broadest sense, Spain can be divided in general for its native culture and its reputation as one of the major ‘holiday capital’ of the world although there is much more than that.If you choose to live within the country, you’ll discover a lifestyle much more traditional.


In Costa things can sometimes seem a bit like the UK, only with better weather. The largest cities are just as culturally vibrant as the other major European cities: Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia only three of the cities most popular and attractive.

Medical care

Spain has a fairly good level of public health, but if you intend to retire there, it is better to take out medical insurance to access to the private sector. The private sector tends to be faster and offers a higher degree of care and English is more widespread. Although costs vary, you are in the region of £ 1,000 per couple, per year.

For arts and crafts lovers, products handmade wooden furniture in Spain, leather shoes, textiles and leather, you can have great prices.

Cost of Living

Although the gap has narrowed in recent years, Spain has generally a lower cost of living. Often one can dine for less than other European countries and a major attraction for retirees is that warmer weather means its annual accounts for public utilities such as gas and electricity is much less than in most other European countries.
